Ghalegaun Trek

On day 2nd, after breakfast from hotel, you will commence a full day sightseeing city tour of Kathmandu where you will see the popular attractions of the Kathmandu valley. You will visit the Pashupatinath temple, Boudhnath Stupa, Swyambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square (the old palace) in this tour. These sites are enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites and are very ancient and historical pride of Nepal. The most uniqueness and diversity in Nepalese tradition and culture is reflected by Buddhist Stupa at Boudhnath, the fine arts and historical architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square. After finishing the city tour, you will be dropped at hotel and we will meet again to check your clothing and trekking equipment viz. sleeping bag, down jacket, trekking boots etc to ensure that trek preparation has been made. This evening will be spent in Kathmandu. You can also take a walk or travel around the local areas, market and explore lifestyle of the people living here. Enjoy delicious Nepalese dinner at hotel and overnight stay in Hotel.

On this day, our representative will meet you at the hotel according to the departure time and takes you to the bus station where your journey starts towards west of Kathmandu through Prithivi highway till Dumre. Thereafter the road turns towards north to Besisahar. This is an excellent drive which has interesting and amazing scenic view of the Mountains, Rivers, waterfalls and Jungle as well as farm terraces and village on the mountains. After the Besisahar, there are two options available to reach Khudi which are by foot or drive, either walk for one hour from Besisahar to Khudi or take direct bus to Khudi. Overnight stay at the lodge.

After breakfast at the lodge, the trek begins and headed towards northwest of Khudi along the bank of the river. It is glorious walking through the forest and many waterfalls along the way. After a short time, you will reach Ghalegaun village which is beautiful settlement of Gurung, major ethnic group of Nepal. Spend your time to walk around the village in the evening where you will feel relaxing peace. Overnight at home stay.

On this day, wake up early morning for experiencing beautiful sunrise and the cultural breakfast with the Gurung family. After that, explore the traditional lifestyle of the people by walking around the village. Enjoy evening cultural program that takes place at the village where locals performs their traditional songs with traditional dress. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, now the trail descends through the small village and forest to the river side. This trail continues leads along the bank of the river till Khudi where you have to stop for overnight stay.

Breakfast at the lodge and take bus to ride back to Kathmandu. It is beautiful driving along the Prithivi highway which has stunning views of scenery. Arrive Kathmandu in evening and walk around Thamel where you can do shopping if desire. Stay overnight at the hotel.

This day is the last day of the trek or you can also extend your holiday if you have time. If you schedule to departure from Kathmandu, we would make arrangement to drop you to the airport according to your scheduled time of departure by accumulating wonderful memories of the trek!
